The fixed side part prevents the bit from pinching the horse on the lips/corner of the mouth. The central triangle with quick release ensures that the cheek chain distributes an even pressure.

Supplied with chain and hooks of stainless steel.

A straighter mouthpiece gives a smoother mouth pressure. The elliptical middle part is slightly forward-facing and gives pressure over the tongue. A bit with short shanks is a good start when starting to ride with an Icelandic bit, because the shorter shanks give a softer effect and are more forgiving than this traditional long one. Also available with short shanks.
