Mare pregnancy test
Mare pregnancy test. You can check if your mare is with foal without having a veterinarian do it. To be used from day 40 to day 100 (140) after fertilization. Keep refrigerated.
You only need 5 blood drops from a mare for each test, taken from its lip. The test the pregnancy hormone OMSG in the mare's blood from day 40 to day 100 from fertilization. Positive results (two dots) means that the mare is pregnant. Negative answer (one dot) indicates that the test has been performed correctly but that the mare is probably not pregnant.
A positive answer from day 100 until day 140 indicates that the mare is pregnant but a negative answer in that time range does not necessarily mean that the mare is not pregnant. If no dot appears it could indicate that the test has not been performed correctly or that it has expired.
Short instructions: Detailed instructions in icelandic and english are included with the test.
* 5 blood drops in a cotton swab. Cotton in red vile for 2 minutes
* Throw cotton away, test pin in the vile for 25 minutes
* Wash test pin thoroughly, put in yellow vile for 25 minutes
* Wash test pin thorougly, put in blue vile for 10 minutes
* Test results: 2 dots = Yes, 1 dot = No
All equipment for executing and reading the test is included.
